It’s December, so the spirit of giving is healthy round these parts. Subsequently, we’re gonna be delivering a couple of podcasts this month, along with our RECAP-a-day marathon of 2010 retrospectives.

Our first yuletide podcast comes from Jon ‘Outsider’ Camilleri, one of Victoria’s most respected drumNbass selectors. Week in week out at Hush, as a resident at Theory Thursdays, Outsider keeps the fire steadily burning with a mix of dNb that pushes the envelope while keeping in touch with the continuum of classic drumNbass. As dNb & dubstep intensify their mutual dialogue, deeper knowledge of dNb is ever more valuable – Victoria is lucky to have Outsider repping our city.

From the powerfully chopped breaks of Breakage & Spor to Lynx’s fresh take on Alex Reece’s classic “Pulp Fiction”, this mix is a moody odyssey that maintains a blistering pace once it gets going. Throughout, there are sequences of searing amens, teched-out rollers, & utter sub-line devastation, kinda like Outsider on the decks… which is where he’ll be Friday Dec. 17 when Eames, Rhythmicon & Frame perform alongside Outsider at sub⎹division One Year Anniversary Party at Lucky Bar.
